Today topped out at a scorching 40.5°C, recorded at Athalassa, after a tropical night that kept six stations above 20°C. No rain fell anywhere on the island in the past 24 hours.

Tomorrow is the one to watch: the Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for high temperatures, expecting around 40°C over some inland areas between 14:00 and 16:29. Nicosia leads inland at 37°C (feels like 40°C), Larnaca and Paralimni sit near 34-35°C, Limassol and Polis Chrysochous around 34°C, Paphos is milder at 29°C, and Troodos stays coolest at 26°C by day with a chilly 15°C overnight. UV runs very high at 8-9 island-wide, so plan midday sun protection.

The sea stays swim-friendly, 27.6-28.9°C along the coast with calm waves under a metre.

The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow high-temperature warning for today, in force 14:00–16:29, with inland highs near 41°C and around 32°C over the higher mountains. Nicosia leads at 38°C, feeling like 39°C. Limassol, Larnaca and Paralimni/Protaras all reach 34°C, with feels-like values of 37–38°C. Polis Chrysochous officially hits 35°C but feels closer to 40°C in the heat. Paphos stays milder at 30°C (feels 36°C), and Troodos is the coolest spot at 26°C. No rain is expected anywhere, and UV is very high (index 8, 9 in the mountains). The sea is warm for swimming, from 26.8°C off Limassol to 28.4°C off Larnaca, with calm waves under a metre. Tomorrow looks much the same, with highs barely moving anywhere.
