Cyprus peaked today at 40.7°C, measured at Athalassa, and seven stations logged a tropical night — a warm, sleepless one for many across the island. No rain fell anywhere in the past day.

Tomorrow is the day to watch: the Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for high temperatures between 14:00 and 16:29, with inland areas near 41°C and the higher Troodos peaks around 32°C. Regionally, Nicosia leads at 38°C (feels 39°C), Polis Chrysochous follows at 36°C (feels 40°C), Larnaca reaches 34°C (feels 36°C), Limassol and Paralimni/Protaras both hit 33°C (feels 37–38°C), Paphos stays milder at 30°C (feels 36°C), and Troodos tops out at 27°C (feels 29°C) with the day's highest UV, 9. UV sits very high, 8, almost everywhere else too.

The sea remains inviting, from 27.5°C off Paphos to 29.2°C at Latchi, with calm waves under a metre.

A yellow heat warning from the Cyprus Department of Meteorology is in force today, with inland temperatures expected to reach around 40°C between 14:00 and 16:29. That is Nicosia's territory, where the capital tops out at 39°C today, feeling like 40°C, so stay hydrated and out of the midday sun if you are inland.

Elsewhere is a touch kinder: Limassol reaches 34°C, feeling like 38°C, Larnaca 35°C, Polis Chrysochous 36°C, and Paphos stays the coolest coast at 31°C. Troodos tops out at 28°C by day and cools to 18°C overnight. No rain is expected anywhere today, and UV runs very high at index 8 to 9 island-wide.

The sea is swimming-warm, from 26.5°C off Paphos to 28.4°C at Latchi and Protaras, with calm waves under a metre.

Tomorrow eases off a couple of degrees everywhere, with Nicosia down to 38°C.
