Cyprus weather, in plain words

Today brings serious heat inland, with Nicosia topping out at 40°C and feeling more like 44°C in the afternoon. Athalassa recorded the island's hottest reading so far, 40.7°C, and 10 stations reported a tropical night, so mornings offer little relief. Coastal areas are milder: Limassol 34°C (feels 40°C), Larnaca and Paralimni around 32-33°C, Paphos the coolest lowland spot at 31°C. Polis Chrysochous also runs hot inland at 37°C, feeling like 44°C. Troodos stays comfortable near 29°C. No rain is expected anywhere today, and UV is high to very high (8-9) across the island, so shade and water matter more than usual. The sea is warm and calm for swimming, around 27-30°C with waves under a metre everywhere. Tomorrow stays similarly hot, with Nicosia near 41°C and coastal towns edging up a degree or two.
