Today topped out at a scorching 43.2°C at Athalassa, with 23 stations recording a tropical night as the heatwave held firm. No rain fell anywhere on the island.

Tomorrow keeps the heat going: Nicosia and Polis Chrysochous both reach 36°C, feeling like 40-42°C, while Limassol and Larnaca reach 32°C, and Paphos and Paralimni/Protaras top out at 31°C. Troodos stays coolest at 26°C. UV runs high at 8 to 9 nearly everywhere, so sun protection matters even for a short walk.

The sea remains warm and calm for an evening swim, from 27.4°C in Limassol to 30.2°C in Latchi, with waves under a metre.

Dust is expected to rise over Nicosia and Polis Chrysochous, where levels could pass 50 — sensitive groups should take care outdoors.

The Department of Meteorology has issued an orange high-temperature warning for today, valid 12:00-16:59, with highs near 44°C over inland areas and around 33°C on the higher mountains. The night was already muggy, with 24 stations recording a tropical night and Kampos leading this morning at 30.3°C.

Nicosia is today's hot spot at 42°C (feels like 45°C), followed by Polis Chrysochous at 39°C (44°C), Larnaca 36°C, Limassol 35°C, Paralimni & Protaras 34°C, Paphos 33°C, and Troodos staying coolest at 30°C. UV runs high to very high (8-9) island-wide. Rising dust is expected over the next 48 hours around Nicosia, Paphos, Polis Chrysochous and Troodos, so sensitive groups should limit time outdoors.

The sea stays warm for swimming, around 27-29°C from Limassol to Latchi, with calm waves.

Tomorrow brings real relief, with highs dropping to 31-36°C across the island.
